Have you ever seen/used touch diamond's today screen plugin? Its kinda like this. Except this is more customizable (who knew?), and they're far more skins for it. With plenty of developers devoting time to it every day.
It's a pretty amazing application, with flash support, and smooth transitions etc. It's definitely worst checking out!
